ABOUT ME

I am a Los Angeles-based luxury travel advisor and editorial professional. My lifelong fascinations with travel, hotels, aviation, world cuisines and languages have influenced my work in both the journalism and luxury travel industries. I began my writing career at seven by reviewing restaurants for my day camp’s newspaper, The Cali-Camp Chronicle. When I discovered the Condé Nast Traveler “Gold List” a short time later, I designed a fantasy global itinerary based on the hotels I most wanted to visit. I took great pride in my writing assignments in elementary and secondary school, devoting the subject matter to travel and food whenever possible. In my teen years, I honed my writing skills by attending summer journalism programs at Oxford and Boston University, before graduating from L.A’s elite Windward School in 2001.

In 2005, I graduated with honors from New York University with a Bachelor’s in Journalism, and a double minor in French and Italian. To get as much extracurricular training as possible while in school, I interned at Us WeeklyTeen People and Spectrum News NY1 cable news network. The humble origins of my food writing career came full circle my sophomore year, when I was asked to conceive a food column for NYU’s student newspaper, Washington Square News. My popular column “Snacks and the City” ran for three years and was picked up by a local food magazine upon my graduation, which led to my career as a freelance writer and editor for such publications as New York Magazine and Departures.

My interest in special events and hospitality was piqued while reporting for New York Magazine’s biannual wedding guide, which led to a secondary career as an event planner. I got my footing in the industry by working for a few of the city’s most prominent private event firms, and then shifted to overseeing events and marketing for several restaurant groups. Now that I was fully ensconced in the hospitality industry, I decided to return to NYU and obtain a Master’s in Hospitality and Tourism. Among the many paths I studied, luxury travel advisement was a seamless match for my special events background and also incorporated my love of travel.

Upon finishing my Master’s in 2014, I moved back to L.A and immediately began working alongside the president of one of the city’s top luxury travel agencies. Since then, I have planned countless trips for the Hollywood elite, while constantly traveling myself to experience new destinations and rediscover the old. Yet, I have also been privileged to continue using my prowess as a wordsmith by overseeing editorial and web content for two travel agencies, in addition to writing travel articles for several local magazines.
